An Author In the Making

It’s the most-asked question every author gets: how do you write a book?

Maybe you happen to be like me (Paige—hi there!): you live in a small home tucked away near a small mountain-side town in North Carolina. You run a small art gallery and wine shop. You dabble in a number of side-projects you are equally passionate about. And yet somewhere between your adventures, and work, and walking the dog, you make the time to write.

There were times when I wasn’t sure it was a realistic thing to pursue. But I found a method that works—and I want to share that method with you.

The following downloadable resources have been created for those who have the same dream: to hold their physical book in their hands.

Critique Process for Writers and Readers – 10/12/2018, 3pm: Writers are told to find ‘alpha readers’ and ‘beta readers’ for their works in progress, and often people are quick to offer to be first or second readers. But what does that mean? What should a reader expect to be able to offer a writer? What should a writer expect from a first reader? Setting clear expectations for both parties is vital if the process is to be useful – and fun! This panel offers advice on how to deal with the critique process from both sides of the fence.

Build Your Dream Writing Critique Group – 10/13/2018, 2pm:

Since the Blazing Lioness Writers began working together in 2016, they have received multiple manuscript requests from queries and 5 publishing contracts. This panel will offer suggestions for forming a dream critique group. Information includes about what to look for in writing and critique partners, how to figure whether those wishing to form a group are the right fit for your writing and goals, and how to keep motivated and focused in a busy world.
